The evening prayer of the Assumption of Holy Mary will be at 19:00 at the Holy Monastery of Panagia Gouverniotissa.

During the summer, from May to October, each Monday at 20:00 o’ clock, in the beautiful square of the village of Hersonissos, the restaurateurs organize a traditional Cretan night with live music and traditional dances. Musical instrument players, singers and dancers will show you the authentic traditional music of all parts of Crete and they will entertain you with their traditional musical instruments and traditional dances. It is a Cretan feast in which traditional dishes are available for everyone to taste and thus experience the Cretan cuisine.

In general, visitors can enjoy the famous traditional food, wine and “tsikoudia” offered in the traditional taverns of the village and have fun under the sounds of Cretan music, learn to dance and in combination with the Cretan hospitality, will be an unforgettable experience for those who will visit it.

A Cretan night with the traditional Cretan music will be held in the former Primary School of Avdou on Monday 14th of August 2017 at 9pm. The top four Cretan musicians Psarogiorgis, Stelios Petrakis, Giorgos Manolakis and Babis Paraskakis will entertain you with their melodies. The entrance is free.

On Tuesday 15th of August at the Former Primary School of Potamies at 9:30 pm, a Cretan feast with George Glykokokalos and his band will be held. The entrance fee is 12 € and full menu is included. The child menu (up to 8 years old) is 6 €.

The Merchant Club of Hersonissos organizes Cretan and Laiko (Greek music genre composed in Greek language in accordance with the tradition of Greeks) Nights, every Wednesday and Thursday from 20:00 to 22:00 in all the central locations of Hersonissos. At each event, the Merchant Club of Hersonissos offers free treats such as raki.

On Wednesday 16th of August at the Former Primary School of Potamies, at 8pm the Cultural Association of Potamies organizes a Memory Night dedicated to the Hero Manousos Triantafyllidis.

In the beautiful square of Mohos village, during the summer months and specifically every Wednesday at 20:00 pm, a Cretan night with live music and traditional dances is organized.

Numerous tourists and locals enjoy the music-dancing program presented and taste the famous Cretan dishes and drinks such as wine and “raki”. In addition, the dance group of Mohos Cultural Association “Proodos” and experienced musicians present a program with music and dances from Crete and folk music of our country.

Visitors learn to sing and dance with the help of the dances of the Association and thus they have the chance to experience a Cretan traditional feast which lasts until the morning.

The ‘VIVI Theater’ presents the performance “Fortounatos” (the lucky one) at Kainourgio Horio, on Saturday 19th of August, in 2017 at 21:00. The entrance is free.

It is a hilarious Cretan comedy written by Marco Antonio Foscolo in about 1655. It is directed by Tilemachos Moudatsakis.
