The evening prayer of the Assumption of Holy Mary will be at 19:00 at the Holy Monastery of Panagia Gouverniotissa.

During the summer, from May to October, each Monday at 20:00 o’ clock, in the beautiful square of the village of Hersonissos, the restaurateurs organize a traditional Cretan night with live music and traditional dances. Musical instrument players, singers and dancers will show you the authentic traditional music of all parts of Crete and they will entertain you with their traditional musical instruments and traditional dances. It is a Cretan feast in which traditional dishes are available for everyone to taste and thus experience the Cretan cuisine.

In general, visitors can enjoy the famous traditional food, wine and “tsikoudia” offered in the traditional taverns of the village and have fun under the sounds of Cretan music, learn to dance and in combination with the Cretan hospitality, will be an unforgettable experience for those who will visit it.

A Cretan night with the traditional Cretan music will be held in the former Primary School of Avdou on Monday 14th of August 2017 at 9pm. The top four Cretan musicians Psarogiorgis, Stelios Petrakis, Giorgos Manolakis and Babis Paraskakis will entertain you with their melodies. The entrance is free.
