Stalida beach is located 34 km east of Heraklion and just 3 km east of Chersonissos. In fact is a continuance of Chersonissos beach. It was named after the verb “stalizo” (resting in shade). The stockbreeders rested in this area their sheep and goats.
It is composed basically of 2 parts. The first one starts from the west and reach to Anthousa Hotel, while the second one starts from Anthousa Hotel towards Malia. The sea deepens steadily and it is ideal for children and families as it has a sandy beach and is 3 km long. Due to its northern orientation, this beach usually has waves. It is an organized beach with lifeguards, umbrellas and sunbeds. There are many restaurants and cafes too, offering multiple choices to visitors.
Stalida beach is couples and families friendly, has shower facilities and space for activities.
