    Mochos : Cretan night on Wednesdays

    In the beautiful square of Mochos village, during the summer months and specifically every Wednesday at 20:00 pm, a Cretan night with live music and traditional dances is organized.

    Numerous tourists and locals enjoy the music-dancing program presented and taste the famous Cretan dishes and drinks such as wine and “raki”. In addition, the dance group of Mohos Cultural Association “Proodos” and experienced musicians present a program with music and dances from Crete and folk music of our country.

    Visitors learn to sing and dance with the help of the dances of the Association and thus they have the chance to experience a Cretan traditional feast which lasts until the morning.

    Dr Giannis Kugiumutzakis is Professor Emeritus of Developmental Psychology of the University of Crete. In his lengthy career as a leading researcher,he has investigated the process of sharing in infant imitation,arithmetic abilities,rhythmic,playful and teasing behaviors,imagination and friendship,and his published works cover developmental psychology,the epistemology of psychology and the psychology of art.

    Two musicians of the highest international caliber in a performance of Strauss Violin sonata op.18 and B.Bartok’s Romanian folk dances. Erzhan Kulibaev, an artist of thundering austerity and winner of a stream of major competitions,who has successfully performed with the most prestigious orchestras in the worls under the direction of great music masters such as Vladimir Aschenazy, Maxim Vengerov and Valery Gergiev, will be joined by concert pianist,international jury member and festival director Timur Urmancheyev.
