The Theater of Crete presents the play “Ta Vedouzopotira” (cups used for therapeutic purposes in order to treat influenza and cold) by Roula Orphanoudaki.

The play is a hilarious Cretan ethography that presents the stories of pure, honest and traditional Cretans, in a village in Crete. Through their characters, they impart the folkway of this blessed place. Laughter and emotion are constantly alternated with each other, as it happens in our real and daily life. The play is embellished with traditional music that emphasizes even more the culture of our country.

For the 2nd consecutive year, the Cultural Association of Voritsi Pediados “Agia Marina” organizes a mountain footrace of 4.5 and 11 kilometers called VORITSITRAILRUN. There will also be a 1500 meters race for children under the age of 12.

On Sunday 3rd of September in 2017, at the Theater of Panagia in Ano Hersonissos, at 21:00 pm, the Choir of the Municipality of Hersonissos will present songs by Manos Hatzidakis.

The entrance is free.

During the summer, from May to October, each Monday at 20:00 o’ clock, in the beautiful square of the village of Hersonissos, the restaurateurs organize a traditional Cretan night with live music and traditional dances. Musical instrument players, singers and dancers will show you the authentic traditional music of all parts of Crete and they will entertain you with their traditional musical instruments and traditional dances. It is a Cretan feast in which traditional dishes are available for everyone to taste and thus experience the Cretan cuisine.

In general, visitors can enjoy the famous traditional food, wine and “tsikoudia” offered in the traditional taverns of the village and have fun under the sounds of Cretan music, learn to dance and in combination with the Cretan hospitality, will be an unforgettable experience for those who will visit it.
