    During the summer, each Monday at 20:00 o’ clock, in the beautiful square of the village of Chersonissos, the restaurateurs organize a traditional Cretan night with live music and traditional dances. Musical instrument players, singers and dancers will show you the authentic traditional music of all parts of Crete and they will entertain you with their traditional musical instruments and traditional dances. It is a Cretan feast in which traditional dishes are available for everyone to taste and thus experience the Cretan cuisine.

    In general, visitors can enjoy the famous traditional food, wine and “tsikoudia” offered in the traditional taverns of the village and have fun under the sounds of Cretan music, learn to dance and in combination with the Cretan hospitality, will be an unforgettable experience for those who will visit it.

    In the beautiful square of Mochos village, during the summer months and specifically every Wednesday at 20:00 pm, a Cretan night with live music and traditional dances is organized.

    Numerous tourists and locals enjoy the music-dancing program presented and taste the famous Cretan dishes and drinks such as wine and “raki”. In addition, the dance group of Mohos Cultural Association “Proodos” and experienced musicians present a program with music and dances from Crete and folk music of our country.

    Visitors learn to sing and dance with the help of the dances of the Association and thus they have the chance to experience a Cretan traditional feast which lasts until the morning.

    Opening exhibition of the Aegean Arts International Children’s Art Competition 2019 themed “Freedom” At 20.30 there will be a song Concert “The 6 nocturnes of W.A Mozart” by the Prefecture of Crete Children’s choir.

    The exhibition will remain open to the public from 19:30 to 21:00 throughout the duration of the festival 4-12th July. On the evening of July 12th, the results of the competition will be announced on the website.

    This year’s festival opens with glorious concertos written by the greatest composers of all time! Marianna Kapsetaki, a Heraklion-born concert pianist internationally renowned for her unique achievements in music as well as science and 1st prize winner of 11 piano competitions will perform Mozart’s piano concerto K467. Maria Goutou, Zisimos Soulkoukis and distinguished concert master Jannis Georgiadis will perform two double violin concertos by Bach and Vivaldi. The members of the Piraeus Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by their first Principal director George Galanis.

    2) Film documentary “Nikos Mamagakis-The Last Word”

    Greek singer and song writer Giannis Anagnostopoulos is fast becoming recognized for his unique musical talents. His concert will feature a wonderful selection of intimate songs, lullabies and light rock dedicated to little Aretousa!

    A film follows in tribute to the remarkable life of Rethymnon’s renowned composer Nikos Mamagakis. In this rare biography-documentary, the composer speaks from his heart for the last time. From the bombing of Crete to studying in Munich with Carl Orph and his great career in music, this is an epic record of an extraordinary life.
