During the summer, each Monday at 20:00 o’ clock, in the beautiful square of the village of Chersonissos, the restaurateurs organize a traditional Cretan night with live music and traditional dances. Musical instrument players, singers and dancers will show you the authentic traditional music of all parts of Crete and they will entertain you with their traditional musical instruments and traditional dances. It is a Cretan feast in which traditional dishes are available for everyone to taste and thus experience the Cretan cuisine.

In general, visitors can enjoy the famous traditional food, wine and “tsikoudia” offered in the traditional taverns of the village and have fun under the sounds of Cretan music, learn to dance and in combination with the Cretan hospitality, will be an unforgettable experience for those who will visit it.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 19:30 to 21:00 throughout the duration of the festival in the Cultural Association Museum of Episkopi Pediados.

The results of the competition “Love Nature” will be announced on the festival’s website on the evening of July 12th. Τhe award ceremony will take place on July 12th@21.30 at the Panagiotakis Garden Theatre in Episkopi Pediados.

In the beautiful square of Mohos village, during the summer months and specifically every Wednesday at 20:00 pm, a Cretan night with live music and traditional dances is organized.

Numerous tourists and locals enjoy the music-dancing program presented and taste the famous Cretan dishes and drinks such as wine and “raki”. In addition, the dance group of Mohos Cultural Association “Proodos” and experienced musicians present a program with music and dances from Crete and folk music of our country.

Visitors learn to sing and dance with the help of the dances of the Association and thus they have the chance to experience a Cretan traditional feast which lasts until the morning.

The festival curtain rises with a thrilling evening of sweeping romantic works performed by two outstanding piano soloists, both multi international award winners as well as graduates of the Juilliard School of America. From Schubert’s Seranade, Liszt’s Grande Valse and Chopin’s Barcarolle to Khachaturian’s Sabre Dance, one of the signature pieces of 20th century pop music that has been featured in a wide range of films over the decades, this evening promises to be an unforgettable one!

A seminar by the distinguished flute soloist, educator, recording artist, orchestral and chamber musician, and leading performer Dr Iwona Glinka will take place at the Cultural Association Museum of Episkopi Pediados.

The seminar will be followed by a concert “Meeting with Contemporary Music Creation”, in which Dr Iwona Glinka will present, among other things, works by contemporary composers. In this way, the artist contributes not only to the promotion and support of contemporary music creation, but also to familiarising the public with modern music, underlining that contemporary music does not bite!

We are delighted to welcome three outstanding artists whose constant striving for excellence has gained them international recognition and many first-prize awards in major music competitions in Panagiotakis Garden Theatre in Episkopi Pediados.

The evening will start with the classical singer, soprano Waimay Yau, and the pianist Leona Crasi, who will present a rich selection of romantic songs and lullabies, including Debussy’s “Sleeping Beauty”, Brahms’ Cradle song, Schubert and more. Their performance will be followed by the dashing Italian pianist Simone Tavoni, who will present a wonderful programme of romantic works such as the Scarlatti Sonata, Liszt’s Spanish Rhapsody, and a glorious Chopin Ballade.

An evening which is certain to put you in the mood for love!

Syria’s leading young pianist and one of the most exciting young artists to emerge from the Middle East, Riyad Nicolas, has established himself as a formidable figure of his generation, complemented by musicians such as Daniel Barenboim, Vladimir Ashkenazy and John Lill, and a graduate with distinction from the Purcell School, Royal Academy of Music, and Royal College of Music London. He is a winner of multiple international prizes, and has become a pioneer of peace, performing in major music halls all over the world and raising awareness of the plight of the Syrian people.

His performance is preceded by an inspirational dialogue with the Cretan author and artist Stelios Viskadourakis.

Then, the London based Aesthesia Quartet, four outstandingly talented saxophone soloists – Jonathan Vaux, Daniel Scott, Stephanie Frankland, and Ashley Brand – each with major international awards and prizes including the EMI Music Sound Award, overall winner of the Harrogate Festival (London), Gregynog Young woodwind player and BBC Woodwind semi-finalist, will present a gripping musical journey from Mozart to Philip Glass.

Tonight we welcome two outstanding Greek film producers, Angelos Kovotsos and Antonis Tolakis, who will host an open dialogue and present their award winning short documentaries “The Musical Journey of Konstantinos Diminakis”, an inspiring story of a young conductor’s determination to follow his dreams, and “StringLESS”(!), the story of an acapella vocal group of five women from Thessaloniki who create beautiful and alternative music with a female identity. The evening will also feature a performance by the Greek composer Giorgos Volikas, who will present a selection of works from his first CD “Genesis”.
